Concern helps introduce my students to the lived experiences of the poor in our world. This encounter with extreme poverty can be overwhelming, and I appreciate how the speakers' stories move the students from paralysis to analysis.

GCC IN ACTION:
Our Annual Student Workshop brings together students across the NYC area in a simulated United Nations “summit” where, collectively, they confront global topics such as the Millennium Development Goals, Emergency Response, Hunger or Water. We can offer these themed workshops at your school as well! Our highly successful after-school clubs challenge students—through research and analysis, consensus building and debate—to take action and report their progress in the GCC community blog.

OUR APPROACH:
Our program is designed to inform students about the multiple perspectives that define complex global issues. We encourage students to think critically, debate, and analyze the issues—GCC does not promote one way of thinking. GCC emphasizes critical thinking, leadership, and action. At the heart of our program we aim to inspire youth to become active global citizens.
